Organisation and Membership of the Club
The Mercia Canoe Club is run by a Committee of volunteers, who will always accept help.
If you have any issue to raise or suggestions for improvement then
please let us know.
A General Meeting is organised usually in January after the accounting
period to the end of December.
All members are welcome to attend.
Membership of the club is valid for one year and includes
membership of
Coventry Canal Society.
Membership fees are not refundable.
If you want to bring any friends or family down to the club to paddle,
they will need to pay the
Visitor's fee.
You will also be liable to pay visitor's fees whilst your membership renewal is outstanding.

Membership application forms can be obtained by visiting us at the
Canal Basin, or
downloaded
as a PDF file.
Family membership rates are available to additional members of a family
provided one full rate senior membership has been paid.
Whilst your Mercia Canoe Club membership is current for a year, your
membership of Coventry Canal Society lapses
on January 1st each year and you will not be able to attend the Canal
Society AGM held in March unless you have
renewed by that date.
Please update us if your address, telephone number or email address change.
When your renewal is due you will be sent a reminder by the membership
secretary.
Please pay promptly as the bills still have to be paid.
Storage for members' boats is available at the discretion of the committee, and is largely
dependent on there being sufficient space in the club. Storage fees
are payable from the
date the canoe is stored, and are payable again at your next renewal.

Participation Statement
Canoeing and Kayaking are "Assumed risk, water contact" sports, that may
carry attendant risks. Participants should be
aware of and accept these risks, and be
responsible for their own actions and involvement.
However, you will be encouraged to improve your skills and improve
your awareness of the risks and how to control them.
The club is affiliated to the
British Canoe Union (BCU)
and coaches are able to train and assess you for the BCU Star tests 1-3.
